so it's the New Year! and I changed my bedroom theme to a more contemporary + eclectic mood - from its usual shabby chic theme. my inspiration this time is from my previous post - Twiggy and the British flag :) since i promised to at least finish my room after graduation (as a gift to myself) and i'm now 95% satisfied :)

Project Progress: the RestoBar

so i have been working on this project for quite some time now, and construction will start as soon as the holiday has finished :)

Reality is, you can squeeze your brain out every time you have to design for something but you also have to consider the (1) Budget (2) Market (3) Period of Lease (4) Maximum Capacity (5) Kitchen Space (6) Food/Drinks that will be served etc. etc. so restraining one's self should be observed.

Initially, we had to go Modern + Minimalist since the idea was to mix Asian + Western (Burgers +Milk Tea + Beer at night) so I had this in mind...

Moodboard: White Brick walls, Cement finish, Oak Wood, Tom Dixon inspired drop lights, and suspended bulbs...

And another option with the flooring and walls...

And here was the Layout...

I was already excited with the execution of the design, but after some thoughts the partners decided to skip with the "Milk Tea" and go straight with "Burgers + Bar + Beer". So I have to revise everything again (STRESS- was already done with the elevations, rcp, and shop drawings, but ohwell :)

and this is what we have agreed upon to :)

Some items were retained, but the furniture went from Modern to Masculine. Also the ambiance got a little rustic and old-feel. While the suspended light accents MUST stay :)

Then Option 2 without the divider between the bar and booth seat :)

I'm already excited (and scared) at the same time with the outcome of this project :) We would be expecting that the Opening would be before Valentine's Day :) But after meeting with the contractors and clients again, we have to expect some changes... cost-wise. But anyway, I hope its nothing major, and I hope it would still look great with the revisions of materials and some layouts they were suggesting. But as always, whatever the client says, stays. And our role as designers is to help clients get what they want, not ours (unless given the opportunity, why not :)

but for now, i have to enjoy the Holiday and will keep you posted :)

last week, our puppy was confined with Parvo :(
it was heartbreaking, knowing that 50/50 of puppies survive from the virus.

(first day at home)

i wasn't able to work for days... and i'm not even a dog person, but seeing this helpless creature from hyper to motionless led me to crying :(
so with tears in my eyes, i asked my dad to bring him (at 1am) to a pet hospital.

good thing there's Vets in Practice in Mandaluyong, which my cousin recommended, since all their pets go to the same place.

I just called the clinic earlier, and visited him after being confined for 5 days, he has recovered! :)
and i can bring him home tomorrow!

(here he is after days of being confined - now needle free! :)

i'm just thankful for God for helping this poor pup live a more meaningful, longer life :)
and again, i'm so thankful for all the doctors and nurses at Vets in Practice :)

now i can't help but look around for nice beds to design for him,
just in case im no longer busy :)

so Graduation officially marked my end with school-ing (again) lol, because this (Interior Design) is actually my 2nd course after college :) which took me two and half years of *&^#^%$#^%$^%t! ~~stress~~ challenge! but its alright, nothing's easy. and i'm soo happy i'm finally done and over with it for now *cheers*

and sure, i do enjoy taking this course (sometimes), but i didn't expect that i would be receiving Honors too. it was really a good surprise :)

HARD WORK PAID OFF :)

Our booth bagged First Place, Alumni's Choice and Third Place, Faculty & Overall Best Booth Design.

i feel so blessed :)

its pretty awkward how my posts had become photobooth-consistent considering i do bring my cam when im out, (but im way too lazy to do some effort lol). it might be a sign of ~~aging~~ growing up, but for more than a year now since i started stressing myself out (i do that!), i just drop by to... i don't know, post random stuff - as always - since i abandoned my first blog (2004). so aside from being a personal diary, i use this to get myself tired - hoping i could hit the sack at any moment after posting (been a 5am-6am sleeper for weeks now). blah. anyway... if i'm NOT here, (1) i'm posting in my other blog (http://mydesigncupcake.blogspot.com/), (2) sleeping (3) working til daytime (4) bitching (5) skype-ing (6) tweeting (7) and the sorts :)

as much as i want to celebrate two of friend's wedding, i have to skip half of both in able to attend both weddings at the same night! from Edsa Shang to New World Hotel in Makati... this night was truly inspiring <3

we never discussed what to wear, but three of us ended up wearing nude dress + black shoes! cute :)

so my life has never really changed after three weeks of completing our design exhibit...

which means i'm still staying up late til morning, and starting my day in the afternoons... x.x (which also means, more photobooth-whoring for now LOL)

all these time, i thought i would be basking under the sun at this very moment/ or spending the holiday with my favorite niece, Bunny! but as it turned out, more work has been piled on my table :/

but if everything goes well, this (above) is going to be my first actual-paid project *crossing fingers sooo tightly* and during these past few days, all i've been doing was layout-ing its floor plan, mood board, perspective, etc. and the time allotted to complete everything is completely unbelievable! this... and other minor projects i've been also cooking right now, which i would be posting soon :)

sometimes i get sooo overwhelmed i wish i could just go out and completely waste my day! *evil thoughts*

anyway, thank God i found you!

if you knew me personally, you'd often hear me complaining about my back, how i badly need a hot-stone massage/manicure-pedicure and a salon fix, a Vacation, a LIFE, how my best friends are now medicines (called: berrocca, melatonin, benadryl, and advil), etc. etc. and though i often (also) say that i'm not complaining being Busy, now when i think about it, i kinda am! LOL. i guess i just missed the days when i'm just bumming around, receiving my daily allowance, always out/hanging out (even on weekdays), or if i'm working for some company, i just dressed up and spend my income on shopping etc... now, i haven't even watched a new movie! and i'm often confused when people say this (insert movie title) is good, whatsoever. BLAH.

i guess its just part of growing up and literally prioritizing things... and these pictures kinda shows how i have been - often sleeping at 5am, and lacking sleep :) cos you'll seldom see me hanging out with people or out for some dinner/drinks/movie... hehe. MY LIFE NOW.

this just shows how i'm starting to get my life back, cos i'm starting to post entries in all my three blogs! *beams* anyway, this travelogue is actually a year late IKR? it was one of those most-memorable and best-trips-i-ever had with friends! and i just looove this city! Seoul currently is my favorite city in Asia! that i could skip HongKong & Shanghai at a heartbeat! hehehe

with the amount of design choices one could think of, its hard to stick with just one (or two, or three) styles. with me, if it's not a clean/light/neutral palette, i get industrial/ eco glam/ eclectic.

and today, i'm feeling eclectic glam oozing with colors and textures! like one of Kelly Weartsler's bedroom designs here....

i really like the spunky colors and textures she used in this bedroom, not to mention, that white and pink rendition of the Ming chair. it's all pink and purple, but not too girly! i don't know how that chandelier lights up, but it definitely adds up and made the room really luxurious. so inspired, i created this outfit peg thinking, if i couldn't bring this home, maybe i could just wear it! :)

Interior Design Exhibit

i remembered two and half years ago when i was still contemplating whether to pursue Interior Design as my post-grad major, and boy... do time flies! now, we're actually in the last part of the whole course - Exhibit - which happens before graduation. in a month's time, i would be receiving my certificate and can then start designing... homes & establishments :) *excited* i can't be more than thankful for my "real" friends who never stood me up/ stood by my side during the process, and motivated me the whole time - even during my bitchy, anti-social moments. and browsing through my last posts, looking through where i have been, what i had accomplished, i think it's all worth it. whew. i think i'm truly Blessed, and i can't thank God and my family more :)

anyway, here is the booth my group had created for our exhibit :)

the theme of the Exhibit is Sustainability, and here we were assigned to create a Dining Room that is 60-70% made of Plastic! you read it right, Plastic! (you can read more details of it here).

i'm currently working on a new blog for my design projects and previous works from school - the Philippine School of Interior Design - cos i think they deserve some exposure since they (those plates) Killed my social life for two years! even if my drawing skills are not at par with my OC/ uber-talented classmates - hey! i only started drawing two years ago (excluding my sketching classes in fashion school), so please "appreciate"! haha

and i'm a little too broke right now anyway to go shopping (didn't know exhibits would cost $$$$$!!!), so i need that to get me some projects! jk! naaah, just an added interest since i'll be working mostly after graduation... *deep breath* that, and another one i'll be posting here soon! :)

things i'm loving at lookbook.nu right now :)

been ages since i had time browsing through fashion blogs/ lookbook...

i was too engrossed with Interiors for the past year,

and boy, do i miss it! :)

but Interior Design has also its own flair... and can get really really interesting!

just like Fashion and styling, you have to be really keen at the details.

the accessories we wear, what shoes/ bags goes well with what outfit.

how we play around textures, from leather, suede, cotton, and fur...

different pegs and eras, vintage vs. trends... etc.

but Interior Design, on the other hand, is more difficult.

you have to know the ergonomics of furniture, the function, weight, availability,
and effects of materials in diff. locations, how to arrange, how to restrain.

like Fashion, we aim for Balance.

We stop putting or adding stuff when we feel like we had IT...

the look and mood we're aiming for :)

currently, i'm loving Eclectic style in Interiors...
also the mixing of classic vs contemporary,
then shabby chic on my own space :)

my weekend was pretty neutral cos i was experiencing (facial) allergies! i'm still sad with the fact that i spent a huge amount from my dermatologist 2 weeks ago just to make my face worse :/ i should've just went shopping instead ...

it was also one of the reason why i was too lazy to dress up and put on some makeup... so i wasn't able to attend last friday's DealDozen event, instead me and some friends stayed overnight at a friend's house at Alabang, which turned out to be a good treat :) they just moved in early this year, i loved their neo-baroque interior (but was too shy to take pictures of their home cos i'd look so ghetto! haha) maybe next time we come over again :)

so now it's pretty obvious that our version of Florante is also a vampire :)

i only had the morning to gather things from my closet that day cos i forgot to pull out items from my friends too. i initially wanted her to wear a red gown for the vamp-vixen appeal, but the only gown i had here was Grecian, so we went back to being emo instead... :)

it's funny how Sunshine's look has changed dramatically with the dark, heavy makeup and Gothic accessories.

i had the chance to visit Palawan before the term started (since its quarterly, and we don't have any breaks, except for the weekend. boo.) the place is divine... i have hundreds of pictures, but i'm still too busy to post them, & school's killing my social life! lol. rant much?

anyway... on a brighter note, Forever21 has recently opened its doors in Manila, and well... it's NOT really helping me save up this year. i know you guys know what i mean :) but its cool though, to have Topshop, Zara, Mango, and now F21 in here... and yeah, Hermes! Manila is really catching up! :)

i haven't been this busy since thesis days in uni (ugh... like 5yrs ago?)... so my body aches for weekly massages, food/ alcohol, and beach trips every NOW & THEN!

in 3 weeks time, i'm already finished with Basic Course in Interior Design, and i plan to finish it 'til i can finally nail my own project! nyahaha! but it'll take a loooot of discipline, hard work, and (social sacrifice!) blah.

before i actually became sick & too stressed at my projects (yes, interior designing is really stressful!), i spent the weekend with my friends at Baguio City! 5 hrs from Manila... is the city of cool weather, pine trees, and strawberries!!!

so there was this randomly DRUNK guy in Taboo... and we decided to make fun of him! (bad i know!) i think his friends abandoned him already... poor guy eh.

yeah, he got bored one day and painted a dragon in all 3 corners of it! kewl huh? too bad he wasn't able to finish it... cos he was only here for a holiday. i wish i was that good and bravely paint my wall too!

i've been busy with school homeworks lately... and i'm pretty much planning of hibernating this month of August - meaning, less parties and weekend night outs. yeah... this could be real. it's been raining nonstop anyway, and all i want is some warm coffee and am-i-the-only-one-who-thinks-it-is-lame? True Blood series. plus, i felt kind of broke from last month's impulsive shopping... it was my birthday month, and i can't control it! lol.

my internet has been sucky this month, and i can't wait to change subscription! - GLOBE ADSL sucks!

just finished with the fashion courses (basic fashion design & basic pattern making) i took this summer TODAY :)
i'm gonna miss my fashion class... the people there are great! not to mention our dear designer-instructors John & Paul Herrera!
being surrounded with uber-artistic people can be both inspiring and frustrating! sometimes i wish i had their "gift" too :)
BUT i've already decided to pursue Basic Interior Design and i'm gonna start monday! so... it's gonna be a very very busy year for me!

mood board: peter pan movie. i wasn't able to finish (rendering) the whole collection, but my idea was combining raw and modern materials, soft textures, feminine colors, etc.

(yeah... i know my sketch's not the prettiest in the block, but i'm glad i'm DONE with stick figures! ~haha. must. practice. more... cos i suck in details!)

OMG Edison Chen is on the front page!!! BUT my effing Chinese sucks, so damn.

we planned on visiting the Giant Buddha (aside from the outlet shops) in Lantau Island, HK. the cable car trip took more than 30mins... it was windy that day, and i'm scurrrd of heights. got bored eventually. also never bothered to get up-close with Buddha... a bus ride wasn't alluring at all.

i looked like Mickey's long-lost sister with the cheeky face, black coat, and red tights! Disneyland HK is soo small, yet i want to come back over and over again! :)

the weather was weird in Hongkong when i arrived - it was COLD! my friends informed me to bring scarves/wintery stuffs on the last minute (when its supposed to be Spring), and i didn't had time to prepare for my outfits since i just arrived from Caramoan Islands, hours before the flight! i guess God's telling me NOT to travel on December anymore, since i said to myself that i want to 'dress up' for winter. funny thing is, my friends had been wearing thin clothing weeks before my arrival.... and it got WARMER again once i left for Macau.

maybe someone's really out there fulfilling my wish... (?)

i'm having a MAJOR vacation hangover.

some 2 weeks ago, i attended Happy Adrada's Fashion Gala.
morning went, flew straight to Camsur and CWC.
then Caramoan for the next 3 days...
went back to Manila for a few hours,
then travelled to Hongkong and Macau for 5 days.

i haven't slept like a baby for 2 weeks,
and i'm still recuperating.

anyway,

Caramoan Islands was to DIE for!

it was ONLY ME and 5 of my friends who were visiting that day...

so we had this kind-of delusional 'idea' of owning the place.

"Survivor Israel" was also shooting in some 3 islands nearby...

and they blocked it.

i can't stop bitching about how i thought this was MY country!
and that i could visit wherever i want to!
but after some shots of alcohol... i felt better.

ps. there are like gazillions of pictures in my computer,
but i'm too lazeeh to crop out my friends/ choose which ones i post :)

'Caramoan Islands' reminds me so much of 'Phi Phi Islands' in Thailand!

it almost feel like a carbon copy (sans foreign tourists)

so i don't think i need to go back to Thailand in the next 2-3 yrs...

but rather explore more Philippines :)

i'm on a very shitty sit right now... hence, the MIA.

but anyway, just to give you some updates on what's happening in my life, let's cross some things out from my NY's resolution...

CHECK. spend Christmas in a winter country (i just want to dress up for winter!) - no need for Christmas. just got back from HK/Macau, and man! was it cold!
CHECK. be able to stand up & finish the whole ramp (2x) in wake-boarding! - well partly. i went back to CWC 2 weeks ago, but my wake-boarding skill is still the same.
CHECK. commit to belly dancing and yoga - i finally enrolled Bikram Yoga. damn was it challenging!! but im currently on hiatus...
CHECK. visit China, drop by HK, then shop in H&M! :) - just got back from HK with a tearful H&M shopping spree! >:)
CHECK. wear circle lens with ease - done. but not my thing anymore
CHECK. have a wonderful, to-die-for, beach getaway! - just got back from Caramoan Islands (where Survivor France & Israel were shooting), and more coming its way!!
CHECK. ~~make a total hottie ask for my number, then make him cry...~~(haha!) - i never thought this would be possible, but it happened. i didn't expect i would cry (harder) though :(
CHECK. fall in love again ♥ - i'm currently in my deathbed. i fell, but i'm broken :(

but i want to make things right! i will stand up again, and have a happy ending :)

so my sister 's back from her vacation in the US, and brought me home some makeup's (WOW ilove how everything is cheap there!:) and clothes i ordered from Forever21 - leopard, satin, leather, floral a-line miniskirts and printed leggings!! *yuuuum* NO new shoes however... but i had my mom's approval to get the Damier Neverful MM from LV, which i promised, would be my LAST bag for the year!! *grins* and ilove them to bits!

was able to wear the DIY shredded tank, and liquid, metallic tights from topshop last weekend...

but can't get over on how people reacted to it:
the "maybe-she-has-an-attitude-problem" look. bah.

after hibernating for almost 2-weeks somewhere, i'm finally back in the city :) Fort is absolutely my fave destination, when i'm out with my friends...

and just so u didn't noticed, i have stick straight hair! :) i actually asked my hairdresser to iron it for a while cos my curls are killing me! had thought of keeping them this way, but my hair's too damaged... so yeah, its going back to curls once i wash them. pft.

also been playing with black's, studs and golds lately (finally! right?) cos MOST of the clothes in my closet are yeah, those 3 words. the dress/top whatever is actually a gift from my friends eons ago - but never wore it, not even once, cos i find it too SHORT (unless i don't care about people seeing my underwear! >:) so thank God for the skirt! and i've been looking for something like this forever! but since i'm such a lazy-ass shopper, and oh, was also on a shopping ban some months ago, i just got them last Christmas from the bazaar in Rockwell. the fabric is also perfect... its a bit thick and wool-y, so the pleats drops pretty nicely by itself :)

... it has also been chilly in the Phils. lately, so i've been using my knit trench coats as much as i could! :) and that SELDOM happens!

until somebody mentioned to me (a month back) about our local designer, kate torralba, teaming up with the largest hosiery manufacturer (City Lady), designing colored/patterned tights which she would be selling to the local market!

so last Monday i went out in what-my-cousin-call a "harajuku" outfit. i'm not sure why, but i guess its the white tights...?? or the layering?? cause i've never seen anyone wore white tights here, and neither had she, hence...

anyway, the dress is from one of our malls in Manila (Landmark) and is $4 ONLY!! it was sooo cheap that i got the other color as well! :) BUT the original fitting & length sucks, so i payed another $5 for alteration etc. (in my new, secret tailor :), waited for almost 2 weeks (i had 6 of my clothes altered!), and i'm totally inlove with them now!

and what's funny is, i NEVER did thought of wearing them for dinner (or something special), as i only imagined myself - flocking the beach/ spending some lazy, out-of-town holidays - with these. but since the weather suddenly became a lil' chilly (really really weird!) i tried layering, and stuffs... and hey! i think it looked okay for a Christmas dinner! :)

and just as i thought that i'd be able to go out without any of those (yeah, so so lame) logo handbags, i changed my h&m studded ones for these gucci on the last minute! (btw, i already sold the studded bag on ebay).

last Saturday was spent in 'me & my friends' annual Christmas dinner (16 attendants this year! we're expanding! :) - good companion, sumptuous food (Silk Thai)/ wines + desserts (The Stock Market), some alcohol/ vodka's (thanks to the b'day boys!), ~~boys boys boys,~~ partying, and more!

really... i had the best high ever! :):)

and just when i thought we're DONE with partying (the effects of getting OLD et al) - we were WRONG! 'cos after dinner, we headed to Cuisine & Piedra... and danced our night away!

and everyone's saying that my heart got stolen that night, 'cos i had way too much fun/ alcohol/ dancing/ and boyfriends in one night! but i guess it's just the HOLIDAY CHEER in me... like c'mon, let's share the LOVE shall we? it's Christmas Season after all!!!

i have to buy a new hard drive and start all over. thank God it wasn't the motherboard... but even so, i think it was MY fault cos i had been covering my baby in this cute, leather-casing (since Macau) and no matter how many times my friend told me that it needs "air", i totally ignored it - threw away those air balls (or whatever you call it) - and covered it with the "jacket" (yes, it was so cute, but it suffocated my baby!). or maybe, i was just an impatient junkie. i don't know... it just feels so different... and sad... it was only 1.4 years old!!! and my files.... *sigh*

anyway, just wore this dress (that i had for more than a year) for the very 1st time... it's weird cos it feels so NEW even if its so OLD. (and excuse me for being wasted :)

another piece i've been thinking on selling, but my mom told me to keep them.

got this knit coat from one of my favorite stores in Xiamen, China- Yarou (my korean friends got them in black & white, while i forgot why i got the orange ??). anyway, the store was a 5mins walk from our school, and it housed some of the BEST items we could find! exaggerating much? haha! but REALLY. and what i like about the store is that it has 2 divisions, 1 for HIGH END'S (very expensive, 1-of-a-kind couture pieces shipped from Japan & Korea) and NORMAL ONES (which i could only afford at that time! :). and i love their PA's! ...donned from head to foot in their merchandise, with perfect hair & makeup (almost harajuku-ish), they never get tired teaching how to pull off an item! :) and even if all i could say at that time was, 謝謝 (thank you), 可以試嗎？(can i fit?)，小一點 (smaller)，大一點 (bigger)，不好 (not good)，好看嗎？(does it look good?)... i think we understood each other & had some fashion moments shared :) and oh, they also have house brands (like mango, topshop, etc.) from time to time too! :)

i wish to go back in Xiamen and visit the store again. but of course, i could never tell my dad that the only reason i want to go is to check out Yarou! haha! but i still have some relatives living there... so he might think otherwise :) *i hope*

its almost Christmas, and i bet Shanghai weather's starting to be ice-cold *shudders* yes, my last year's winter moments are still traumatic... i'm so thankful i'm no longer there, now!

but what's funny is, while i'm covered with wool and fleece all over, most girls there wear it vivi style!

what i thought models here are wearing aren't for real, i was wrong! it's not just for the glossy pages...

saw these boots from zara yesterday... and they were too comfy & slouchy to resist! *evil grin*

well, i did thought about it before, during, and after dinner... but it looked as if no amount of meat nor carbs from Holy Cow - i really recommend this place for their steaks & big servings! the food were soo good for the price tag! - would let me forget them. and having my forever&ever shopping buddy as one of my companions today didn't helped either.

so i got them HOME! :) and i think its something i can wear MORE often, as compared to my other boots, in a country where autumn & winter DOESN'T EXIST!

my friends and i met at Greenbelt3 and dined at this posh, Manhattan-style restaurant called Marciano's (which i think is owned by Marvin Agustin - a local Filipino celebrity - who obviously has a crush on me!) haha! :P conceited much? no, i was just kidding! :) but we saw him there etc.

anyway, ilove the food & the ambiance... not to mention, the big-size serving and considerably not-so-hefty pricetag :) but stupid me, i forgot to bring my memory card :( so no pictures for ya.. yet. i even wanted to show you some pieces (like brocade upholsteries, crystal/ gothic chandeliers, white bricks, red details, etc.) which i planned on putting in my room when we redecorate it... yes, i'm so sick of my pink walls! new theme? manhattan + audrey hepburn! i'll have her life-sized picture shipped soon! yada yada...

then after that, we checked out the stores in Greenbelt4 to help my friend choose her very own Christmas present! :) of course, we ended up with handbags... 'cos even though the current (fashion) season's out with bags, Manila obviously isn't ready for shoes. believe me, Havaiannas rule the world here! while i'm not complaining, cos i love lazy slippers... and i'd rather spend my day in the beach, rather than in the city! so she ended up picking something from LV...

i was rummaging through my winter stuffs last night, from 3-years ago to the ones i've accumulated from shanghai, and was surprised to find this lovely knit top/sweater which, if i remembered correctly, only bought for $2- in sham shui po, hongkong (2005).

i paired them up with my high-waisted h&m skirt, but it looked as if the skirt and thickness of knit made my belly "bump".

it's my niece's 2nd birthday today! :)

her nickname's bunny, and she asked me to wear these bunny ears... while stealing all the bunny stuffs in my room! (yeah, i have some toys lying there!) but it's okay... cos she's like mini ME! i always color her nails the same color as i'm wearing, and she loves shoes/ clothes/ makeup more than toys! haha!

i'm on the verge of tossing these jackets from my closet cos i know i'll be stucked in tropicaland (aka. no winter/autumn, ever!)

#1. the gold bomber jacket.

this used to be my favorite when i was still taking my mandarin classes in china, 2005. so many memories then... and it looked soo perfect with all-black ensemble and patent booties!

#2. the feminine blazer (with lace and pearl details).

#3. the camouflage military jacket.

which i was wearing today when i met up with my supplier...

i don't know. i think i got sick of seeing the same stuffs over and over and NOT actually wear them. its either the weather's too HOT or i'm really lazy dressing here in my country... (or i'm starting to be an old maid!) haha!
